Final Thursday

This upcoming Thursday, July 16, will be our final day in the computer lab. On this day you are to complete your blogs.
A completed blog gets broken down as follows:
- blogs have four entries. One for each week
- each entry should have at least three paragraphs
- paragraphs should review what was learned through out the week, and can focus on lectures, assignments, grammar, essay, quickwrites, or anything else you learned in class.
- don't forget to give examples
- use your notes
- for extra credit add a photo of yourself to your blog
Finally, you must email me a link to your blog. If you don't email me the link, I will not be able to view your blog and you will not be graded for your work. Follow the directions below to email me the link.
- copy and paste the address of your blog site to an email and send it to ramirez_james@montebello.k12.ca.us
- make sure to type your name and period in the subject line
If you forgot the address of your blog, you can find it by
- clicking on the dashboard link in the top right corner of your blog page
- then click on view blog
- the address will appear in the URL address bar at the top of the page

In addition to finishing your blogs you are to write your movie review for Juno. Add this movie review, that you have already written, to your publisher document that you began the first week of summer school with your partner. Print it out (in b&w is free color is 10 cents).

comma chart

Morning!
This week in the computer lab you will be creating a chart/table using Microsoft Word. Your chart will have three columns. The first column will list the type of comma being used e.g., appositive, series, numbers. The second column will show the rule for the comma using your own words. The third column will provide a new and original example. Look at your notes, and make sure you have included all the commas learned.
your second assignment is to access your blog and journal what you have learned this week. As a reminder, we covered how to write an essay using the proper format and commas. USE YOUR NOTES.
If you have not created your blog click on the link to begin. you are still repsonsible for last weeks entry.

progress?

A few of you are making great progress! Awesome! Others are dropping the ball in a major way. If this is your group, you had better start making a disaster plan. Remember, you receive credit for anything you turn into me. And, in this case, turning in something is much better than turning in nothing. Think about it, 50/100 points is an F but it's better than receiving 0/100. AT least a 50 point F is only 10 points away from a D.

next step
This week you and your group should be writing and memorizing your scripts. A large part of your grade comes from knowing your lines and acting professionally. See the movie rubric for more information.
After school, you should be meeting up and begin the filming of your videos. Don't make excuses, I know you can find the time.
